Members of the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) at Nathan Littauer Hospital announced that its nurses have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike on September 1st. There were three hospitals scheduled for a strike but Samaritan Hospital management in Watertown and St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica has settled under the pressure. Let’s make sure that Nathan Littauer Hospital follows suit.

Nurses at the hospital have been working day and night without contracts. One of the main issues is a staffing crisis that exists at the hospital. Nurses have raised concerns about inadequate staffing of RNs in numerous departments. Adequate nurse-to-patient staffing improves patient mortality rates and overall quality of care, as well as reduces turnover rates, staffing costs, and liability.

Please join us and show your solidarity for their fight for a fair contract by joining them Sept. 1, 2016 for a scheduled walkout!

Rallies are scheduled the following days and times at Nathan Littauer Hospital located in Gloversville:

Thursday, Sept. 1st | 7 am, 12 pm, 5 pm

Friday, Sept. 2nd | 7 am, 12 pm, 5 pm
