About Us

The Capital District Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO (CDALF) was formed in 2001 under the New Alliance initiative, with the intention of building a more unified Union movement for working families in our eleven-county service area.

Since that time, the CDALF has grown to include over four-dozen affiliated Unions representing over 100,000 working men & women in upstate New York.



Geography

As you can see from the New York State AFL-CIO map, the CDALF covers a large portion of eastern New York around the State Capital in Albany.  Over the span of five Labor Councils, the CDALF team fights for working families in the following counties:
