This questionnaire must be completed by ALL candidates requesting endorsement of the Schenectady Area Labor Council, NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2009.
Members of Greater Capital Region Building and Construction Trades Council, as well as CDALF leaders, participated in a rally on 4/22 at the Capitol. Workers were advocating for Assembly Bill A3705 which would clarify the definition of public work.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Albany County Central Federation of Labor General Rules Article XIX Section 2: Political Endorsements: After proper procedures have been followed, endoresements shall be presented at a regular meeting in the form of a resolution and voted upon at the next regular meeting; Notice of this meeting must state that such endorsement is to be voted on. On Tuesday, May 12th the Schenectady County Legislature voted on whether or not to build a new nursing home. The vote passed in favor of the project on party lines. This project will impact public, private and construction trade union members and their families (CSEA, SEIU, Building Trades Council) Because of our legislator's leadership, the County remains in the Nursing Home business and retains 266 unionized positions; this $50,000,000 construction project will also create over 100 construction jobs for our skilled trades.
